The Process
Janbury, working in a supportive roll with Construction Management, would assist in the day-to-day administration of traffic movements into and around the site. Janbury recognizes that due consideration always needs to be given to the “critical path” at various stages of the contract to enable progress to be maintained. To that end, regular meetings between Janbury, Construction Management, and Trade Subcontractors will be ongoing. Therefore, Janbury, the Construction Management, and Trade Subcontractor can then prepare for their anticipated delivery and can schedule the necessary resources accordingly.
Single Source Responsibility
Combining Janbury’s services such as Material Hoisting, Traffic Management, and Safety services under a single source responsibility would result in a synergy of distinct advantages:
Greater control over deliveries, staging and stocking
Increased safety with barricade removal and replacement
Manufacturer specified inspection of hoisting equipment and devices
Pre-task safety meeting to review hoisting plan and posting of restricted zones
Remove and clean obstructions to facilitate safe and timely stocking
Janbury can offer a tailored Personnel and Materials Traffic Management program insuring that both traffic and deliveries are received in a planned, safe, and controlled manner. A site specific detailed Traffic Management Plan would be produced the Construction Management in conjunction with Janbury. If implemented from the beginning of the project, the provision of a strict delivery management system will instill a positive pro-active management culture.
Material Hoisting
As previously noted, if Construction Management elects to employ other additional services provided by Janbury such as Waste Management, there will exist certain economies of overlaps in scope. For example, the same hoisting equipment utilized for Waste Management debris removal can be readily available for Material Hoisting. Not only could the same hoisting equipment be utilized but there would also be additional economies of both skilled and unskilled personnel.
Vertical Personnel Traffic Management
Janbury can also install and maintain safe building access systems for Personnel. Construction Management, in conjunction with Janbury, can a create site specific recommendations for Vertical Personnel Traffic Management. Again, Janbury can provide a single source for installation, maintenance, relocation, and final removal. Where existing vertical material and personnel lifting equipment is already in place, Janbury can provide supervisory personnel to operate said equipment to insure safety and efficiency of use.
